What is Acrylic?

Acrylic “represents a family of petroleum-based thermoplastics made from the derivation of natural gas. This material is made from Methyl Methacrylate (MMA), Poly Methyl Methacrylate, or a combination of both.” It is also known as Polymethyl Methacrylate (PMMC). Plastics assure affordability, durability, and versatility, which is why they are preferred over metals. Today, different types of plastics are used for industrial and commercial applications and acrylic is one of them.     Flame polishing, buffing, solvent and diamond polishing are all techniques we use to polish acrylic.


    To achieve the end result, techniques of bending acrylic sheet may be required across the sheet or in 1 or multiple places. Bends can be narrow or very wide and anything in between.
